Prepare your Controller prim(s)
- Have your build ready for doors to be included or, in the case of a prefab, place the house and either save or freeze depending on the Rez system.
- Rez the NOVA System Rezzer v1.4
- Click on the NOVA System Rezzer v1.4 box and choose "Rez".
- Click on the NOVA System Rezzer v1.4 box and choose "Save".
** If you do not choose "Save" remember to remove the "Structure Piece" script from any prims you use. Do not include this NOVA System Rezzer "Structure Piece" script in the door/curtain prims you build with. **

- Copy components of the system from the mini-demo
- Prepare folders in your inventory to contain the contents for each of: Controller, Slave, Double Door Left, Double Door Right, Sliding Door, and Curtain. See Overview for the contents of each of those components.
- Edit the mini-demo and check "Edit Linked Parts". Then, select each of: Controller, Slave, Front Door (left), Front Door (right), [Sliding] Door, and [Curtain], and copy the Contents of each into its respective folder.
- Copy the blank Controller prim if desired (you can also build your own).
- Controller contents are
- Door Control v7.32 (script)
- door indicator - locked (texture)
- door indicator - unlocked (texture)
- door security (script)
- settings (notecard)
- Slave Controller contents are
- Door Panel control slave v7.31 (script)
- door indicator - locked (texture)
- door indicator - unlocked (texture)
- Prepare the Controller prim for your build
- REMOVE THE MINI-DEMO FIRST
- If you chose "Save" when rezzing, delete the rezzed mini-demo
- If you did not choose "Save", click the rezzing box and choose "Derez" from the menu
- Texture the Controller prim to match your build, but do not apply locked/unlocked indicator textures to the prim faces. These are applied to the prim through the controller script.
- When sizing/rotating your Controller prim, note the rotation of the Controller in the mini demo. The controller script will apply the indicator textures to the two "end" faces that are in the Controller prim contents.
- Position your Controller prim in the build.
- Add the Controller contents to the Contents of your Controller prim. When adding the contents to the Controller prim, pause before continuing to allow the scripts to recompile and reset.
- REMOVE THE MINI-DEMO FIRST
- Make Slave Controller(s) if desired
- Use the Slave Controller blank prim from the mini-demo or make your own.
- Add the Slave Controller contents to the Contents of your Slave Controller prim(s). When adding the contents to the Slave Controller prim, pause before continuing to allow the scripts to recompile and reset.
Indicator Textures
Controller and Slave Controller indicator textures can be replaced with ones of your choosing -- just rename your textures as follows:
door indicator - unlocked
door indicator - locked
Controller Settings Notecard
The "settings" notecard is where the system owner (e.g., the buyer of your prefab) lists those who will be "Users" and "SuperUsers".
Users can open locked doors. SuperUsers can click on a Controller or Slave Controller and access the menu to lock or unlock doors, set doors to stay open or autoclose, set delay time for doors to close, list Users and SuperUsers (displayed in open chat), and reset the system.
The system owner edits the Controller prim to edit the "settings" notecard in the prim contents. Users and SuperUsers must be listed with their full names, and listings are case sensitive. While only the system owner can edit the notecard in the prim contents, if the Controller prim has permissions set to "mod", and other appropriate permissions or abilities are set, a settings notecard can be given to a tenant of rental property by the landowner so that the tenant can update Users and SuperUsers independently.
Note that the settings notecard contains one default User: Morris Lesse. This is a dummy User and can be replaced by another name. However, the system MUST have at least one user listed.
The RESET function
Note that using the RESET function will revert other settings to default values. This means that doors set to "Stay Open" will autoclose. This also means that the delay time setting will revert to a few seconds. After using RESET, re-adjust your doors' Delay Time, and reapply Stay Open as desired. When re-adjusting your doors' Delay Time, changing it to increase or decrease by one second will restore the Delay Time to its previous setting.
The RESET function will not change the Users or SuperUsers listed in the "settings" notecard.
