NOVA System Construction
- Have only one scripted Controller or Controller/Slave(s) set rezzed at one time. Multiple Controllers or Controller/Slave(s) sets will interfere with each other and each other's companion doors/curtains. When a door system has been finalized with the "Configure" command, this interference will cease.
- Build your Controller and optional Slaves first (prims plus Contents) before building/scripting your doors/curtains.
- Contruct your doors/curtains prims, including size, before adding door/curtain Contents. Resizing your doors after having added their scripts will cause them to break.
- Doors and curtains must be linked as the non-root prim to another non-door/curtain prim (e.g., a door threshold, a curtain rod, or another part of the build). The doors and curtains themselves (the prims that hold the scripts/Contents) cannot be a root prim.
- Pause between adding scripts to prims.
- Beware of Second Life asset server issues. These can cause scripts to fail to compile, causing unexpected results with the system.
NOVA System Initialization and Setup
- FIRST upon setting the door scripts: RESET, LOCK ALL, UNLOCK ALL. Once your Controller (or Controller/Slave(s) set) and their companion doors/curtains are set and scripted, BEFORE working the doors, run through the controller menu items of RESET, LOCK ALL, and UNLOCK ALL.
- For standalone curtains, BEFORE doing the "RESET, LOCK ALL, UNLOCK ALL" functions, touch the curtains to open/close them. This will keep your curtains from being controlled by the Controller or Slave Controller.
- For lockable curtains, do the "RESET, LOCK ALL, UNLOCK ALL" functions before touching the curtains to open/close them.
- CONFIGURING FOR SALE OR TRANSFER
- The Door Control v7.32 script in the Controller MUST have permissions changed to NO TRANSFER.
- Speak in open chat: Configure
- (the Configure command is case sensitive)
- At this point, the system is ready to be set for sale.
- Blocked from using the controller after Configuring
- If you find that, as owner, you are not allowed access to the Controller menu, edit the notecard to add yourself as a SuperUser
- If you find that, as owner, you are not allowed access to the Controller menu, edit the notecard to add yourself as a SuperUser
NOVA Auto Door
- Your doors are set to "Stay Open" and when you step on the doormat, the doors close
- Make sure your doors are set to Autoclose. The Auto Door opener and the Stay Open setting are NOT compatible.
- If you would like Stay Open doors, please touch your Auto Door doormat to turn off the Auto Door feature.
- If you return your NOVA System doors to Autoclose after having them set to Stay Open, please reset your Delay Time setting to reactivate your Delay Time feature.
Other
- Delay Time settings got lost: after setting doors to Stay Open and then setting them back to AutoClose, reset your Delay Time setting. Also, after doing Reset, Delay Time settings must be reset.
- Error 92385 - Did I break it??
Nope, it's not broken! When building a Controller or a Slave, when you put in the Door Control script before the door security script, this error is spoken to the owner in chat. It's only an indication that it has noticed the security script is missing. To avoid seeing the error, place the door security script in the Controller prim first, and then place the Door Control script. Note that no harm has been done if you see the Error 92385 message. - Door prim drift! I open and close my doors, and each time they move farther out of alignment
Are you using a prim positioning builder's tool? If so, the prim positioning scripts are likely interfering with the door rotation alignment. Scripts can leave their mark on prims even though the script has been deleted (ever have hovertext or particle effects persist after the scripts have been removed? Prim memory of the scripts is the culprit) To fix: make the root prim of the linkset a prim that has never had a script in its Contents.
